NOR's yearly meeting 2010
The Norwegian Ministry of Agriculture hosted the yearly meeting, venue at Oslo in March. For the period 2009-2011, reindeer owner Inge Danielsen, Norway is the president of NOR. The priorities of NOR 2010 will be the journal Rangifer and NOR's conference 2010 in Tromsø, northern Norway. With NOR on the agenda, the Nordic ministries of agriculture will meet in early autumn 2010. List of NOR's delegates and deputy delegates

Hans Staaland
Professor in Zoology at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (UMB), Hans Staaland is dead, 70 years old after years with Alzheimer's disease. His research field was ruminants' mineral turnover. After the Chernobyl fall out, he and his colleagues worked with basic about feeding radioactive animals, and he had a special affinity to Arctic and for reinder/caribou and therefore he had long stays in Alaska and co-operation with North-American fellow researchers. Before he got stuck by the illness, he was often attending NOR's meeetings and conferences. Obituary is available in Norwegian.
