Guidelines of abstracts and proceedings
(in English only)
Abstracts
A volume of abstracts/extended abstracts of presentations at the conference will be made available at NOR’s website and distributed in paper format at the conference. To enable this, you are kindly requested to provide an abstract of your oral and/or poster presentation(s) according to the specifications below.
Abstracts should be written in two languages; English (compulsory), and also in either Finnish, a Scandinavian language, or North-Sami.
Abstract instructions (see template, rtf-document)
- Size: 1 page for abstracts (1 page for each language) / 2-4 pages for extended abstracts including tables and figures.
- Font type and size: Times New Roman (size see attached format)
- Single line spacing
- 2.5 cm margins
- Scientific names in italics
Content of abstract:
- Title (in bold)
- Authors: Name(s), affiliation, address, e-mail address
- Text: Describe problem, methods, main results and conclusions in plain writing.
- Extended abstracts should include key references. Give 3-4 key words in alphabetical order.
Submission
Your abstract should be submitted as a Microsoft word file to rolf.e.haugerud@uit.no. The name of the Word file should start with the first author’s or presenter’s surname and initials, as e.g. “WhiteAA-abstract.doc”. Please use the name of the file (surname and initials) as e-mail subject. Abstracts must be received no later than 1st November, 2010. Abstracts not received by this date will not be included in the volume of abstracts compiled prior to the Conference. The abstracts also will be available online. Abstracts will be published in a Rangifer Report to be ready before the conference.
Proceedings
There will be an online proceedings in a Rangifer Special Issue of the conference presentations. Participants presenting posters and/or lectures are welcome to submit manuscripts of complete article(s) in English; see author guidelines. The deadline for manuscript submission will be 5th January 2011. The proceedings’ articles are subject to referees’ assessment.
